Dear All

At the beginning of 2018, the journal Electrochemistry published by The Electrochemical Society of Japan (ECSJ) was renewed as an electronic journal, and many academic papers of the journal have been published on the J-Stage platform. In 2024, the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) have reached to 2.7, under developing as an academic journal.
Usually, citation information for academic journals is posted on databases such as Web of Science (hereinafter referred to as “WoS”), SCOPUS, and Google Scholar. Among these databases, WoS found that there were many errors and omissions in the data of articles published in Electrochemistry after 2023, as follows.

Erroneous registration of DOI                               29  (Correction Completed)
    Double registration                                              21
    Erroneous title                                                     25  (Partially Corrected)
    Incorrect author name                                            5
    Missing article number                                           5
    Not registered                                                        3
Misspelled article number                                      3  (Correction Completed)
Missing special issue number (Special Issue SI)     2
    Incorrect volume number                                        1
    Incorrect bibliographic data                                    1
    Total                                                                     95

Note that these numbers are total numbers and include some papers with multiple errors in one paper.

Since 2023, there have been several instances of missing data and errors in the WoS, and each time we have submitted a request to Clarivate Analytics (CA), which operates the WoS, to retrieve and check the data. However, we are regret that so many data errors have occurred, especially in the past several months.
We will make a request to CA to ensure that no more data registration errors occur in the future, and we will discuss ways to prevent recurrence and resolve the issue. We appreciate your understanding in these problems.
